This year we wanted to do something special for dad’s birthday. He loves his morning coffee so we decided on a individualised coffee mug.
Dad is half jamaican so we knew the colors we wanted to use: green, yellow and black. And a nice “Whaat a gwaan” in the morning never hurt nobody. The “Best Dad Ever” was my sons idea. So let’s get started…
You need*:
- something to cover yout workspace
- porcelain paint: available here
- brushes: http: available here
- a white mug: available here
- sticker letters: available here
- a little patience
You can find a step-by-step instruction in this video:
Our coffee mug turned out almost perfect. Don’t let the paint dry for too long or you will have problems peeling off the stickers. Small mistakes can be corrected with a little water and a q-tip but we decided against it because my son liked the mug the way it was.
You can obviously also paint other things like plates or bowls etc. If you dry them in the oven at the recommended temperature, you can even put them in the dish washer.
Have fun!
